I get some interesting correspondence from people all over every week. Its one of the perks of writing a blog. A couple of times a week I receive mail from disgruntled financial advisors who feel they are living a fraud.
This weekend I received a message from John (not his real name) who offered that I share his comments with the world. As I read them again this morning, I thought that I would:
"Hi Danielle,
I recently came across your site and it makes me very happy to see someone with the same values as I do towards this crazy industry. I believe that all financial advisors should be like you; a true professional and not a simple salesman. I am a young advisor, working in the industry now for 4 years, and I can honestly tell you that the bulk of my training have been all about sales! I started a career in finance to genuinely help those who needed guidance with their money. In 4 years, I feel that my experience and knowledge has amounted to nothing. It's sad to say, but all this time, I have yet to find a mentor. I've been been disgusted with what I've seen and now Im questionning my career.
It's just an idea but perhaps you can initiate a new blog, corresponding to all new advisors entering the business. Advise them what changes they can make in order to regain trust from their prospect clients.
I recently wrote a blog about my experience in the past 4 years. I figured I could shine some light from an insiders point of view. I know that you are a very busy person but I would like you to read it. Maybe you can re-ignite my passion and drive to continue in finance. I've attached a copy in microsoft word format. If you think others may want to read it, you can do as you wish. But I would appreciate if you did not disclose my name.
Thank you and continue the good work."

Audio and Video Interviews“Dear Ms. Park, I watched your appearance on BNN today, and I just have to leave you a message saying 'Thank you' for giving viewers your very frank opinions about how things are going and certain industry practices. I appreciated you trying to give as much information as you could during that (too) short segment. Thank you for what you are doing for all investors!” “Each time I see Danielle Park on BNN, I am impressed with her comments and insights. Other than Rick Santelli on CNBC, she is the only commentator that I feel is completely honest and trustworthy.” Search
